Today, I, Ganondoof, had talked to Shadow Team Artist Roareye to talk about Shadow Team, its projects, and an upcoming Zelda fan game.
CTC: So what is Shadow team exactly?
Roareye:Well, Shadow Team is a fan-media team. If you're not a fan of sonic, then don't be put off by the shadow head on the title. It's just an image. We are in fact a fan-media for Sega and Nintendo characters as well as making our own ones up.
CTC: Do you do this by yourself or do you have other people working with you?
Roareye: I am one of three heads of Shadow Team. The other two are Dreadknux (Who is known for the Sonic Stadium) and Anarchy who is not heard of but is a great sonic artist and game programmer. We all set ourselves our own little projects but do work together on certain problems and projects. The secret project is a collaboration of all three of us. We are also thinking of having a midi musician (Already chosen) and maybe another member (Which we've chosen) join, but only because we could use their skills. Between the three of us we already dominate the graphics, programming and marketing but will need music and probably a more in depth programmer.
CTC: What projects do you have going currently released?
Roareye:We have only got Sonic Avalanche released so far, which is a fun arcade game for up to four players.
CTC: What projects are currently being worked on?
Roareye:We are currently working on finishing Eggman Tug, which is a comedy arcade game for up to four players based around Sonic's arch-nemesis. For the Nintendo audience, there's a couple of games. We have Mario's Mini Micro Adventures: A game based around Mario's life portayed in a platform game, and Super Mario SunSet which is a Mario SunShine style game which is looking quite nice. We are also making a Zelda game (With graphics looking like those of Wind Waker, however we have designed some realistic ones) and a Zelda comic is in thought but isn't certain to make it out yet. It's still slightly unconfirmed.
CTC: Other than frachises, do you make original games?
Roareye: Yes, we have a game called 'Lil Robo by anarchy coming soon that involves a small robot stranded on earth and obtaining data for his robot planet. You must collect data streams and move them two and fro within the time limit. It's more fun than it sounds too. We also have a game based losely on a Sega game that I'm making called Daytona Derby! Basically you have the racing mode to compete in, and a crash mode which will see you try to survive being smashed by a ball. Last one standing wins. We also have Sonic F, the sprite comic I'm making which is not near completion but has two pages of the first comic done. it will be in three comics.
Roareye: We have alot of the projects on hold, even the secret project, so that we can establish a better name for ourselves.
CTC: There you have it! Sonic, Mario, and our favoreit, Link. All done by 3-5 people! For news, games, downloads and more of this great team's work, go to the button below.
