STORY
By Excellsior

The path of the hero isn't an easy and light willed one. Some choose the path while others are found by it, but each hero has something in common with each other, Courage. The courage to stand up for what they know is right, the courage to help people who are in need even at the expense of their own self, and most importantly the courage to recognize the right time to take that stand.

This is the story of an age-old legend that was left in the hands a boy who grew up to become a man. Yet at the same time this is the same story about a war-mongering tyrant who wanted above all total domination. Both capable to do what they must do, and both wanting an opposite to each other's will. But which one had finally left the other crumpled lying on the floor in the dark regions of Death Mountain? This is the story I tell and the story that must be told to fully understand the other chapters, which contain power, wisdom and courage.

Far from recognizable, Hyrule had diminished from its previous glory as a leader. The lands were savage and full of beasts and moblins. This was all due to a twisted monster named Ganon. After years of destruction, Ganon had accomplished what he sought out for, Hyrule's utter waste. Through the Triforce of power, the same one that he stole many years ago, he had carved a dark cut into Hyrule which latter spread throughout the land. Yet through the darkness there was still a known individual who could match Ganon and possibly destroy him. Zelda who had the Triforce of wisdom was fare, noble and wise. She was the last descendant of the royal family and the only one who gave hope to the Hylians, something that Ganon hated of all, was hope.

Anticipating Zelda, Ganon sprung a surprise attack on the grounds of Hyrule's last royal fortress. Luckily for Zelda she had enough time to send Impa, her trusted bodyguard and nurse through the secret passageway that lead out of the walls of the fortress and into the woods. Zelda had very little time and immediately started breaking up her Triforce of Wisdom into eight separate pieces from which she whispered a few words to them to which they took flight into the air and through the sky. A few seconds later and an angry roar was heard followed by ground shattering steps. With the last remaining seconds, Zelda rushed Impa towards the secret passage, she told Impa to find a courage's individual who would choose to find the eight pieces of the Triforce, which had been hidden throughout Hyrule in separate dungeons and save Hyrule from the evil clutches of Ganon. With that Zelda pushed Impa out and closed the door quickly.

Not much is known about what took place in that room afterwards but Impa doing what she was told found her self-surrounded by moblins. She tried to defeat them, but there were too many. Battered and bruised Impa had found a small cave to hide in yet some moblins still found her. A boy garbed in green quickly found her and heroically drove away the remaining moblins. Impa told this boy of what Princess Zelda told her and what he must do. Without hesitation he agreed to help her and set off looking for the Triforce fragments, that boy was later to be found out as the legendary Link . . .

If you have the courage your self I highly suggest that you find a copy of the legend of Zelda and play it on the original NES. Although ROMs are a good alternative, they're far from the true experience. Anyone can find an NES at E-bay for fewer than 10 dollars with or without game(s). If you do choose to find your own Game, good luck.
